On July 17, 2014, cadets from the Lackawanna College Police Academy assisted the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania by moving furniture and with painting the exterior of the “Blue & Pink” Children’s House. Mary Ann LaPorta, Executive Director, thanked the cadets for all their help not only with this project but for all the work they have contributed to CAC/NEPA over the last year. “The Lackawanna College Police Academy Cadets are very special young men and women. Law enforcement agencies and regional communities will be very lucky to have these talented young people securing their communities.”

When it comes to making a difference in improving children’s lives, there is a place for everyone to contribute. Child abuse and neglect is a community problem. Child care and protection is a community responsibility.
