In 2017, CAC/NEPA provided 1,676 child abuse intervention services to 839 children & adolescents. These services included:
682 Forensic Interviews
670 Medical Exams & Assessments,
291 Advocacy, Support & Referral Services and
Trauma Therapy for 33 Children at our Mulberry Center

69% experienced sexual abuse
29% experienced physical abuse
2% experienced both physical & sexual abuse, and/or neglect
63% of children seen were girls
37% of children seen were boys
29% were between ages 0-6
41% were between ages 7-12
30% were between ages 13-18
70% were Caucasian
7% were African American
10% were Hispanic
13% were Other (or not given)

93% of perpetrators were a person
known to the child and/or family
526 Known Perpetrators:
Parent = 34% Stepparent = 4% Other Relative = 19%
Parent’s Paramour = 10% Other Known Person = 33%
41 Unknown Perpetrators= 7%

Training & Education

CAC/NEPA provided training and
education to 2,248 adults and 2,941 children in communities
throughout NEPA in 2017.
