In 2018, CAC/NEPA provided 1,387 child abuse intervention services to 720 children & adolescents. These services included:
630 Forensic Interviews
570 Medical Exams & Assessments,
107 Advocacy, Support & Referral Services and
Trauma Therapy for 269 Children at our Mulberry Center

65% experienced sexual abuse
34% experienced physical abuse
1% experienced both physical & sexual abuse, and/or neglect
64% of children seen were girls
36% of children seen were boys
29% were between ages 0-6
36% were between ages 7-12
35% were between ages 13-18
72% were Caucasian
8% were African American
11% were Hispanic
9% were Other (or not given)

93% of perpetrators were a person
known to the child and/or family
539 Known Perpetrators:
Parent = 31% Stepparent = 4% Other Relative = 18%
Parent’s Paramour = 10% Other Known Person = 30%
38 Unknown Perpetrators= 7%

Community Education

CAC/NEPA provided training and
education to 2,248 adults and 2,941 children in communities
throughout NEPA in 2017.
